Project Management Process
Partnership

Fairly Painless works in close collaboration with clients, functioning more like a partner than a vendor.

Careful Recruitment

We’re selective when assembling a team to work on a project. In addition to creative and technical skills, we look for personalities that will fit together well in a team environment. We believe in the importance of the right mix of people for projects.

Mutual Respect

Various team members will come from different professional backgrounds. Each is an expert in her or his respective field and that expertise must be acknowledged and respected by the others.

A Larger Commitment to the Project

Everyone in the group will win or lose together. It’s not possible for just one element of a project to succeed in isolation. The goals of the individuals involved must be in sync with the group’s goals.

A Shared Understanding of How the Process Will Work

Design teams use a common framework and shared language for working together. Effective collaboration requires a commitment to shared methodology, terminology and milestones. The process will include open critiques with all members participating. The goal is to identify and develop the very best ideas from all sources.

Open Communication

Along the way, it’s vital to maintain positive and effective communication and a commitment to rapid and fair conflict resolution. All members should receive frequent feedback on task performance from the leader and other team members, and constructive suggestions whenever change is needed.

A Job Well Done

Recognize the team and send a clear message that the effort was worthwhile and create positive motivation for future collaboration. We use an online project management tool called Basecamp that acts as a repository for all project communication and assets.
